  1. I miss a yard and garden. My current home - which I absolutely love - is in a basement apartment with huge windows that overlook, alas, a parking lot (I have memorised the license plate numbers of all the building's inhabitants - not deliberately but just because they are there). I do fill window boxes with brightly coloured impatiens every summer and sit them on the ground outside my windows- this creates a beautiful foil to my otherwise uninspiring view. Since I am planning on staying here I am toying with the idea of planting some shade loving perennials: something (besides my cat) to nurture; a worthwhile investment.
