You Say You Want A Revolution?

"You say you have a solution? We would love to see the plan."

You say you want a revolution?

Lots of people say they want to change the world, but what is the plan? I have a few solutions on which I am working.

1. Do something to make the world a better place.

2. Seek the truth and pursue it relentlessly.

3. Free your mind from consumer bondage.

4. Live simply, love unconditionally.

5. Help others do the same.

That is my plan for the revolution.

Interested? We are here to help.

I'm very excited to find a group that is committed to changing things. We then found out that there is an even BIGGER group "Charter for Compassion" http://charterforcompassion.org/
We are working on getting my city, Atlanta, to be signed on as a "Compassionate City" of the world. There are so many people joining! Have you heard of this?
Can you tell I'm very excited?

    1. Susan,

I sure can tell you are excited, and I know why because I visited the link you shared. I'm in! What a beautiful and necessary group with which to be working.

I signed the Charter for Compassion and urge others to do the same (see our new Charter page button under the NBA banner - you can sign right here).

The following is from the beginning of the Charter:

"The principle of compassion lies at the heart of all religious, ethical and spiritual traditions, calling us always to treat all others as we wish to be treated ourselves. Compassion impels us to work tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of our fellow creatures, to dethrone ourselves from the centre of our world and put another there, and to honour the inviolable sanctity of every single human being, treating everybody, without exception, with absolute justice, equity and respect."

Thanks, Susan, for sharing this wonderful, hopeful project.

    1. T.M.,

You are modelling how not to be a thoughtless consumer in your actions, and your blog. And you are a mom, and teach full time? My second hand hat is off to you.

  5. Number 2 is my absolute favorite! For my husband and I, truth is the ultimate virtue in every aspect of our lives, not just with one another, but as a whole. Without truth we have nothing.

Thank you for a excellent post!

    1. MarieG,

One of my biggest beefs with the way things are going in our world is that all attempts at sticking to the Truth have gone out the window. And as you wisely point out, "without truth we have nothing".

I can't think of a better way to go than sticking to the truth, especially in your primary relationship - so important.

You and your husband are on the right path, as difficult and challenging as it may be. Perhaps we can convince our leaders to take up the quest themselves.
