The (Fake) American Dream

The biggest fake out of all? The American Dream.

"And then we woke up - it was all a dream."

I wonder when a majority of captured consumers will do this.

It would be wonderful if we recognized the futility of maintaining the illusions of "Western Values", and saw that the promises made to the people in the social contract were a fabricated lie from the beginning.

Will parents and teachers in the future tell the story of how we threw off the yoke of mandatory working and buying, and government overreach?

"And then, after years of having our trust repeatedly broken, and the promise of a better future being denied, we awakened to the endless lies."

What they promised was all a dream, and a bad one at that.

But we are awakening now (different from "woke") to the fact that it is indeed impossible to buy happiness, and that we would be better off dreaming a different, more simple dream.

The new dream?

Enough for everyone in a peaceful global environment of maximum freedom and cooperation.

In other words, less retail therapy and dependence on a sick and dying system, and more autonomy and working together.

We can make that the new new normal, and toss the old new normal the psychopaths are trying to build back post-plandemic.

No thanks.

We have our own dream, and the power to make it real.

Now You See It, Now You Don't

Cue March 2020. That date signals the end of freedoms we previously took for granted. Maybe we shouldn't have.

We can't say we weren't warned.

"The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue ... at the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they'll just take down the scenery, they'll pull back the curtains, they'll move the tables & chairs out of the way & you'll see the brick wall at the back of the theater."

- Frank Zappa

I don't know about anyone else, but from where I am, I can see the brick wall at the back of the theatre through the fog of greed, propaganda, and bully tactics.

If we love our children we will fight back and make 2022 the year real freedoms are won permanently.

"Mr. Biden and world leaders, tear down that wall."

Assassinating Despair

Following deer tracks down into the valley.

Despite ordering a plain old boring new year, 2020 is off to an interesting start. Too interesting.

So far there has been lot of static in the illusion as we kick off a new, yet-to-be-named decade. Judging from the start, it will be something along the lines of The "First-We-Abandoned-Truth-Then-We-Abandoned-Reality Decade".

Or was that last decade?

Muffled and magical in the snowy spruce forest.

In a more serene way, Winter brought the Maritimes a delicious dump of powdery white stuff.

At the time I had a burning desire to assassinate a looming sense of despair welling up deep in my soul.

Snow is a blanket. Fluffy snow insulates the best.

There was nothing to do but strap on the snowshoes for the first snowy jaunt of the year in the backyard sanctuary. My hike was was made more urgent by the forecast that was calling for heavy rain the next day.

It's carpe diem day after day, so I grabbed on to what I could scramble for, and launched myself out the back door.

Nothing refreshes like Nature. Soon, the trees, squirrel, deer, and a porcupine were showing me the Way of the woods. No drama here, just a successful community of diverse organisms all working together to make things work.

I have never met a tree I didn't like. This one provided a nice spot
to stop for a drink of water and a rest.

I returned from my romp in the wild as a new person, ready to face future gripping events as humanity stumbles through the toxic fog of our collective ignorance.

For the time being, my despair has been slain.
