I always thought the Earth would ultimately take care of itself...citing George Carlin about how the planet is fine, but the people are not. Any destructive organism will be shaken off and made to perish. I have to wonder how long it will be until nature finds a way to demolish humanity faster than man has a chance to innovate its way out of it.
ReplyDeleteI am totally a believer and adherent to "leave only footprints", that is, don't brazenly disrupt ecosystems and destroy the environment for ones' own sake or benefit, but I never thought earth needed stewards. I only think there are too many people on the planet and that nobody will -for lack of a better term-, stop breeding - since humanity likes to cite pieces of paper written by other humans to justify their destructive actions. I am not in a pessimistic mood, I just seriously think man forgot how to be feral, wild, and one with his fellow beasts and flora.
Sounds realistic, not pessimistic, unfortunately. If humans can't learn "how to be feral, wild, and one with their fellow beasts and flora", we are in deep doo-doo.
DeleteBut we can relearn to connect with our planet, and we will have more enjoyable lives when we do.
