Me and the lovely Linda on a hike to a local beach. |
"To live is to love. Everything else is just details."
- Paulo Coelho
I could declutter almost 100% of my stuff from my life. Everything, that is, except Linda. She's a keeper.
Linda is the best friend I have ever had. Since our fortunate meeting 27 years ago I have been enjoying her company and her love.
If you are lucky enough to have even one truly loving relationship in your life you have something precious. You have something that can not be found in any store or catalogue. Something that can not be bought with any amount of money.
My wish is for everyone to experience an abundance of love in the new year. To get you started, Linda and I are sharing our love with all of you right now, for to live is to love, and to love is to live.
We love you. Yes, you.
What a lovely post and what a lovely photo.Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteT.M.,
DeleteCheers, and thank you.
After 37 years with my girlfriend (we've been married that long) we are in the same position as you, enjoying and loving each other every day . She's the best thing that ever happened to me. So many people lose so much chasing a material life and they lose the love they had. It's sad to see.
ReplyDeleteBruce,
DeleteYou have what I call true wealth. No economic crisis can take that away from you. Enjoy.
What a lovely post. You are so lucky to have found each other. My hubby and I have been married for 33 years and we dated for 4 years before marrying, so we've been together a long time, through the good times and bad. We learned a little too late that we didn't need to have as much as we thought we did. Now we're living with less stuff, taking long walks together and looking forward to retirement. Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteClamco,
DeleteIsn't it awesome to hang out with someone for so long? The connections run deep.
I am glad you and your hubby have had your awakening and that it is helping you to live simply and happily. It has been good following your journey on your blogs. You guys have given us inspiration to tackle some big changes, like moving to a new location more suited to our goals.
Happy 2014 to you and your family.
To have such a loving partnership is a lovely and rare thing indeed. How wonderful that the pair of you found each other.
ReplyDeleteMiss Marla,
DeleteI knew she was the one as soon as I saw her. She took a little more convincing, but I am a patient man.
Thank you for your words and your example of a minimalist life
ReplyDeleteAnon,
DeleteWhat a nice thing to say. You are so welcome - it is such a pleasure to share with all of you, and to hear from readers as well is a treasured part of what we are doing.
Yes - at the end of the day and at the end of our lives - all that is going to matter is who and how we loved - lovely post.
