I was just wondering how it works in Canada.

You make such good points here. Every single thing we wear, eat and use requires a great deal of mined materials to make for the machinery to produce it, the materials to box and wrap it in, trucks, airplanes, and railroads to bring it to the stores, energy required to power the machines, and mined materials are in our clothes, the medicine we take, our toiletries, and the food we eat. And sadly, most people are shocked when I tell them that.

Sometimes people will try tell will try and tell me things like they wear only cotton clothes. Well I reply, minerals are used to make the cotton fabric! Specially kaolin! Again, they are shocked to learn that.

The Georgia Mining Association says "If it can't be grown, it has to be mined." Yes we grow part of the products we consume, but many minerals are involved in making the product into what we buy.

Education is important. It doesn't change many people's behavior, but it does change some. I'm looking to a time when more folks are aware and change to consuming less.

Have you seen the Mineral Baby? I'll email that to you.Terrihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10735740353891550502noreply@blogger.com
