We use our freezer a lot - leftovers, and things we make on weekends and freeze in portions, are our "fast food". I like to have enough food on hand to last us weeks, if necessary (like if we don't feel like leaving our retreat in the countryside). I tend to freeze bits of leftovers and we freeze bread. It so happens my errand runner can't help this week, so it's a good time to eat what's in the freezer!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4312736954468978064.post-15556455876487176282016-04-05T09:37:34.177-03:002016-04-05T09:37:34.177-03:00I did this once, quite awhile ago, and was able to...I did this once, quite awhile ago, and was able to skip the grocery store for at least a week. Plus, I kept quite a pile of food out of my compost pile. Thanks for the inspiration, I definitely need to do this again, my fridge is stuffed.

-KateAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4312736954468978064.post-36521619701933605772016-04-05T00:29:12.673-03:002016-04-05T00:29:12.673-03:00You guys inspire me! I' m way ahead. I drive to the city (15 miles away) and buy frozen fruit for my daily green smoothies. There's overstock of that right now and it hasn't been going down fast because I'm using more fresh fruit right now. But it is time to have a no-spend grocery week or two and get this inventory reduced.

I store flour and a lot of dry goods in my frig as well. Time to get those recycled too.Terrihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10735740353891550502noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4312736954468978064.post-19890781228882354792016-04-04T18:47:18.804-03:002016-04-04T18:47:18.804-03:00In the colder months we have something called Frid...In the colder months we have something called Friday soup. It consists of whatever veg are left over at the end of the week before we restock, some vegetable stock and something like red lentils for a bit of body. It's generally delicious!

Madeleine.xAussie Connoisseurhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02668698720239626709noreply@blogger.com
