“The essence of totalitarianism — regardless of which costumes and ideology it wears — is a desire to completely control society, every aspect of society, every individual behavior and thought.Every totalitarian system, whether an entire nation, a tiny cult, or any other form of social body, evolves toward this unachievable goal … the total ideological transformation and control of every single element of society…
This fanatical pursuit of total control, absolute ideological uniformity, and the elimination of all dissent, is what makes totalitarianism totalitarianism. Thus, each new totalitarian system, at some point in its evolution, needs to launch a purge of those who refuse to conform to its official ideology. It needs to do this for two basic reasons:(1) to segregate or otherwise eliminate actual political opponents and dissidents who pose a threat to the new regime; and(2) and more importantly, to establish the ideological territory within which the masses must now confine themselves in order to avoid being segregated, or eliminated."- C.J. Hopkins
A couple of things about corporate/government advertising/propaganda mind pollution.
1) It's everywhere, it's getting worse, and
2) No one likes it except those that benefit from the spreading of this mental excrement.
What to do?
Shut it off at the source, and drastically improve your mental space.
They want us programmed to work-buy-comply-die, and to do so unquestioningly.
Nope.
It's simple.
Shut it off, and shut it up.
Cut the flow off, free yourself and emancipate your mind.
End the illusion. Share what you learn far and wide.
Well said. I am very discerning now about any media intrusion into my life. No TV, no news bulletins, no subscribing to panic and doom - result - I am generally calm and happy and enjoy my life. Thanks for writing in this space Greg
ReplyDeleteHow would I know that it's all going to shit without them telling me every chance they get? Things in my immediate surroundings are unfolding in a peaceful and beautiful way. That is MY news.
DeleteAnother fantastic piece, Greg. I have a TV, mainly for the news. Now there is so much depressive news content, I dont like turning it on. My husband and son watch sports on it, every now and again. If i had my way, the TV would be gone.
ReplyDeleteSince 1 January 2021 I have been greatly curtailing all and any social media. The result has been clarity of thought and no energy wasted on "hm, I wonder if I should...". I have taken to one totally media free day per week - even my children have been warned that my phone is OFF and messages, texts and all other intrusions will be dealt with when - well, when I get around to it actually. There is so little out there that I consider even close to being entertaining. Thank you for writing this - as always, love to you and your lovely Linda.
ReplyDeleteEnd the illusion, indeed! Thanks for this post, Gregg and Linda. I also think about the "news" being just gossip at a large scale. And who needs that garbage? -Erin
