Strange Pull

Yielding to the pull of my love for wild areas - first bike ride of the year.

In 2017 I am taking some advice from the 13th century poet Rumi. Maybe a lot of advice from Rumi. He seemed to have figured a lot of things out. Like "do what you love".

“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.”
- Rumi

This year I will be drawn by the strange pull of what I really love, knowing that it will never lead me astray. By this time in my life, I know what has a strange pull on me. Living simply allows me the time and head space to yield to that mysterious attraction.

Things like hiking, biking, spending time with my besty, Linda, music, growing and cooking wholesome food, and sharing life with our human family. Enlightenment and saving the planet are also on my list of Things That Have A Strange Pull On Me.

Is that too much for one year? If all goes well, I have 363 days to find out.

It sounds as if you are on your way. I think recovery is when people get insight to the negatives in their lives, while enlightenment is when people realise that all indoctrination is useless. The old ways point the way. Simplicity allows insight into the falsehood of owning and dividing, without the practice of simplicity there is no insight. A simple plant based diet allows insight and control over the the hedonic pathways causing this planet's destruction. Meditation promotes Peace and compassion. The pull is the way of the universe that flows through emptiness and is why people have always cultivated emptiness. The way manifests through simplicity and the empty hedonic pathways change to accommodate the fruits of meditation practice.

    1. Alex,

So right. We don't need new knowledge or technology. Just need to apply the things the human family has already learned long, long ago. A way already exists, and I take comfort in knowing that and learning more about it.

In simplicity we have the time to listen to the heart and realize how it is affected by everything around us. Amazing things begin to happen as soon as we make the decision to commit to taking the road less traveled.

Hedonism takes us down a side track to nowhere.

We are looking forward to a new year of learning together here on NBA, in what Coingeddon described as something like "the last sane place on the internet". I love that. Here is to further sanity and clarity and wisdom sharing.

This link demonstrates what happens when the world population eats a diet that activates the hedonic pathways.
